Melanie's Birthday Bash!

One thing I truly love and cherish about our family, is birthday celebrations. For everyone's birthday, we all get together, eat dinner, eat cake and open presents. Whoever is celebrating gets to choose the menu and the cake. My parents have done an amazing job of making my sister and I feel very special for our birthdays. Sometimes the celebrations don't take place on the actual day, but a birthday is never forgotten. I hope that Waylon and I can continue this fun tradition and always spend Madison's birthday with her and make her feel extra special on that day!

Madison was a fan of her Aunt Mel's sunglasses

Looks like a showdown... (they were probably racing to see who could get in grandpa's lap first)

Madison decided to help

Still waiting on that cupcake ...

 This is a fun game!

Melanie always requests ice cream cake :)

The smoky pictures after blowing out the candles are my fave!

Swimsuit #2 ....

When it comes to swimsuits, this little angel is not lacking. She received several for her birthday and they are just too cute to not use all of them! So her is #2.......

And she is off ...

Oh wait, have to stop and play with a few rocks

 Mom, you wanna play??

No thank you Maddy, but I will take this opportunity to take an adorable picture of you!

She is always very skeptical at first, but then she loves it!

Still not so sure about this ...

 She loves the ring

This looks interesting....
HAHA, I don't think she will be diving this year, but next year there is a good possibility!

Stayed tuned for swimsuit #3 and #4
(see previous post SUMMERTIME for suit #1)

A day at the park

Over Memorial Day weekend, Waylon and I decided to take Madison to Funtastic Island. This is like the mother ship of all parks and I have wanted to check it out for a long time. When I didn't have a child I thought it might be kind of strange to just hang out at a park with lots of kid toys. But now that I have a child, game on! It was everything I had hoped and any kid would love it and want to stay there for hours. One small problem, not the safest place for a 15 month old! After about 2 min of entering the maze of the play gym, I quickly realized this was meant for older kids and perhaps we should have waited a bit longer to try it out. So for the next hour, my stomach was very uneasy as Waylon took her up and down the stairs, bridges, slides and anything else the little angel wanted to crawl on.

At this point, park is looking fun ....

 And she is off!

First slide, not too scary (she only will slide feet first on her belly)

This slide seems a little steep .....

Had to have some water after all that hard work

Not sure if this is a look of fear, panic or excitement

Now this is getting a little high

Seriously??!! She is 15 months, this is a little ridiculous

But she made it down safely
